The coin is dedicated to 100th anniversary of Pavlo Virsky, a Ukrainian choreographer, people's artist of the USSR, who had made great contribution to the dancing development enriching it with masterly choreographic elements. Working as a choreographer of Odesa-, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv and Kyiv opera and ballet theatres and as an art director (1955 1975) of  Ensemble of Dancing (since 1977 called after him), Virsky maintained in his creative work principles of  folk dance adaptation for the stage and it was very organic combination with a classic dance.


On the coin obverse there are semicircular inscriptions: (above), 2 and the Mint logo of the National Bank of Ukraine (beneath); within the frame of a bead circle there is a composition symbolizing the Ukrainian dance - flowers with  ribbons, in the middle of which there is the small State Emblem of Ukraine, above which there is the coin mintage year - 2005.

On the coin reverse there is a half face portrait of Virsky, left from which and in two lines there are his years of life: 1905 1975, beneath in a semicircle there is an inscription: .
